Problems with front camera?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wondered if I have a problem with my front camera fitted to my 2017 NX300h. I don't use the camera facility to check around the car much, but when I did last night I noticed that there was am inverted and truncated triangle shape in the middle of the display screen when the front camera was activated.

I looked in the handbook and this seems like its 'normal' or to be expected, but why. The rear camera shows you exactly what is behind , with no area's blacked out because of this truncated and inverted triangle shape.

I expect there is a good explanation, but my warranty runs out next week and if it is an issue, I would like Lexus to fix it under the warranty.

Thanks in anticipation of a response.

The camera with fisheye lens is right under the emblem. That’s grey is part of the grill.

And if Lexus didn't want it there it would have been engineered out.

The 'mask' is there to prevent the driver using the camera when driving, as noted in the link given in post #2 by Herbs
