Has anyone else managed to get the multi-media screen to grow to it's full size?

Yeah, it works for me. I just press the double arrow icon on the bottom right hand side of the screen (sorry if you know this already Alan - wasn't sure if your post was a plea for help or just a comment 🙂).

By the way, I had a strange one at the weekend where I started the car and the infotainment system loaded the navigation screen but without the usual 6 icons in the right hand margin. Not sure why. I powered the system off and on and it resolved it.

You can use the volume knob as a reset button. Just press it for five seconds to restart the infotainment system (handy with the few quirks and bugs it still has)

It was for information Andy - I'd worked it out.

What I am struggling with though is my Lexus Link account - it all works on my mobile phone. My Android Auto works fine but when I get in the car I get registered as a guest and for it to recognise me I've to click on my profile and enter my password everytime! I'll have to call in Lexus Leeds and find some youngster who knows about these things 😁

I took delivery of my 450h+ Premium Plus with sunroof today. Graphite with Hazel leather. Have only driven 20 miles so far (all ev) but hugely impressed.

Lexus Edinburgh have been superb as always and the handover was to be savoured! Stuart Wilson deserves special mention - he took time to explain the features of the car and his knowledge of the new NX is encyclopaedic!

Now need to learn these myself!

Very nice! Is the steering and dash black or very dark brown?

Alan - have you linked your profile to a key fob? Doing this should enable the car to recognise you when you use that fob to unlock the car. If you have your profile set up already I think you can edit it and choose the "Link key" option.

Andy, I think I've linked my work phone (which I turn off when I arrive at the office and before I leave the office) but not my personal phone which is always on. I'll have a tinker tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

It is.  Might call and see a specialist to see what they can offer in terms of another finish 👍

Oh my gosh!  I can't imagine ever doing that to a new car.

I have a loathing for squeaks and rattles in cars and I'd be terrified I'd introduce one.

No criticism intended, it's your car and you can do what you want with it.  More a recognition of my own very limited DIY skills.

Same here!

The HUD repeats the turn by turn instructions of the Apple Carplay in the screen.  Of course when I picked the phone up to take picture it disappeared but honest it does.

Not too far from you.  It’s a nice road to drive between Charlesworth and Little Hayfield.  It’s called Monks Road and the views from the top are spectacular.  If you continue another five miles or so to Chapel en le Frith, be sure to call for a brew.

  • 4 weeks later...

After 5 weeks of ownership and 827 miles I filled up with petrol for the first time.

On a brim to brim basis I have achieved just over 100mpg -well short of the quoted figures as excepted but happy none the less. Will work out the electric charge element in due course however I reckon overall consumption will be c60mpg.

Thanks Ken, useful insight. Keep the info coming.

I've had my 450h+ since 1st March and I'm just a few miles short of 3000 travelled.

I filled it up with petrol on day 1 and it's still not empty, although my fat right foot keeps accidentally squeezing the accelerator too much which starts the engine sometimes!

I also get caught out on occasions by the regen - my commute includes a steep hill about a mile into my journey and if I start with a full Battery and have to brake too often going down the hill, the petrol engine kicks in as the energy can't be stored (or so I'm told - I failed 'o' level physics)

Overall I'm very pleased with the electric range, the available power and the car still makes me smile when I approach it in the car park. 😁

Had both the recalls done.

My only niggle is, I've still not got my profile loaded, but I can live with that as the seat remembers my settings and moves into place.

I've got a front & rear dashcam being fitted on Tuesday - haven't got round to it until now.

Impressive stats Alan. I reckon that means you are getting north of 250mpg! I will be very happy if I get anywhere near that - my right foot can be a little heavy at times.

I'll be refilling petrol when I have a trip to Southampton in August, so will have an mpg then.

That's impressive. I have covered close on 2500 miles but have filled up twice albeit there was still around 2-3 gallons in the tank. Took delivery of the car with a full tank. My latest mpg is 137.7 and best ev only 51 miles (and that included both urban and motorway driving). I am delighted with the car and as you say it brings on a smile.

Hi! I am a newbie here. Can I just ask if the dealers gave you a discount for the car? And if yes by how much? I am just embarrassed to state my starting price to haggle as it might be too low. 😅

If it’s much less than the posted price, then it will almost certainly be too low!   That’s what haggling is about.   It’s not something you should ever be embarrassed about.  Ultimately you’re just dealing with someone - however affable - who is having to sell cars for a living. You don’t have to impress them!

How much car buying have you done before, DC?  Is it the 22 NX 450h you’re talking about?

Firstly, do your research.  You know the model you want so check out what other Lexus dealers are pricing it at.  If you find a contender, print out the info and be prepared to present it as a car you’d considered but you don’t really want to travel that far.

Some dealers will like to have a cash buyer, but others will say it makes no difference - but that’s because they make extra profit selling you a purchase plan.  Some dealers may be more inclined to haggle a quick sale at the end of the month - or their financial year - when they get bonuses if they reach sales targets.

You know what you’re prepared to pay, so if it’s less than the Dealer’s asking, be prepared to walk away. Do it regretfully - pointing out that you’ll now have to ring around to see what else is available.

If this is a good local Dealer, then you might point out that you’ll consider taking out a Service Plan.  I renew mine every three years and both parties benefit.

Consider what extras could be offered.  Forget the free, dealer applied Extra Paint Protection- it’ll be badly applied,  So maybe  there are better mats available.  Or a SpaceSaver wheel instead of the injectable glop.   Or a deal on fitting a Satnav.  And right now, even a full tank might be worth negotiating for.

Forgive me if all this comes across as statements of the ‘bleedin obvious’ that you’ve already been through- and I’m sure others will come along with even better suggestions.

But ultimately it’s your money they’re after - and you don’t have to be embarrassed about that!

Thanks for the reply! It is very helpful as it would be my first time buying a car actually. I am just going for the 350h 2WD premium plus with pan roof. The posted price is £44,580. It has drastically increased in price in just a year. What starting price should I initially present to them with that price point? Thanks again!
