Lexus Stoke.

The financial side of the transaction left me feeling ripped off. But I did get the tea ceremony.
do they still do that?

Not sure if they still do, but certainly did when I bought from them in 2017.

Amazed at how close they are to the stadium, must be crazy on match days in terms of both noise and traffic!

To be honest l didn't expect there would be much fuel in the new car, so made sure it was touch and go that my trade-in would even make it to the dealers.

Yeah, I've always done this with my trade ins.

When I bought my first Lexus from Chester (a CT in 2013) I got a full tank of petrol, plus flowers for the wife. But the bit I remember most was the salesman walked off and returned with the tax disc from my trade in and gave it to me to get a refund worth £400. They gained a loyal customer that day.

You spend 20/30/40/50k on a car and have to ask for a full tank??

I find this a prime example of NOT putting the customer first. Disgraceful and not one argument will set this. Ryanair comes to mind .

Does Lexus HQ allow this?

I would imagine that Lexus formally leaves the decision of how much fuel to put into a new car up to the dealer but recommends as a guideline that it be a full tank.  For a customer not to get a full tank after being regaled with the formal Lexus new-car handover ceremony by the dealer would be so anomalous as to strike one as more than faintly ridiculous.

On approximately this same subject, I have noticed in the last couple of years that my Lexus dealer no longer supplies courtesy cars with a full tank which you were expected to top back up.  Nowadays the tank is a third full, and I guess this is because too many people have been “forgetting” to replace the fuel they consumed.

On all the courtesy cars I've had they came with between one-third and a half tank and I was asked to simply return it with something similar so have always put back in roughly what I have used but no one ever checked on its return that I had.

Yes, it was and I am sure in most cases remains normal practice and behaviour to replace what you have consumed (which was easier if you started with a full tank), making checks unnecessary.  One wonders, however, if levels of trust may not be diminishing.

I remember a few years ago picking up a new Ford and was pleasantly surprised to see that I had a full tank of fuel. Then discovered that it had been charged to me as part of the new vehicle invoice! 🙁

That was certainly a mean thing to do, and it could only have cheapened the image of the brand.  I remember the days when the quantifiable value of a tankful of fuel was usually the final ploy available to either party when negotiating the price of a cheap used car.

Any Lexus purchased new without a full tank of fuel would set a poor image of the brand for a new customer. Surely the guidance to their authorised dealer network is that new vehicles must be supplied with a full tank?

Carl, well said, but tell it to Customer Services at Lexus UK. Some Lexus Dealerships (Franchised) do currently have poor standards of Customer Satisfaction.

Lexus Dealerships are better than most, but there are exceptions. Some of us on here do identify poor service when it is received.

Full tank of fuel. Set of rubber mats. Rear bumper protector. All from Nottingham Lexus. Does that mean Nottinghamis North or South?

Deal was complicated.I got a higher price for my old car than I had expected, but 2nd hand values were starting to rise. I took out a PCP for the £2000 from Lexus and then paid it off about a month later with no hastle. My old car was assessed as worth more than the maximum deposit so I received a cheque for the difference ( can’t remember exact value but I think about £2K). I had decided on the Premium model and expected a wait, but they came up with an F Sport for immediate delivery at the same price!

Presumably it was either a cancelled order or they were looking to meet targets or both. Whatever, it seemed a good deal so I took it.
Absolutely love the car. Unfortunately thanks to Covid it hasn’t had a lot of use. Looking forward to next long trip for a relaxing “waft”.

Picked up my Lexus ES 2022 today. My first ever Lexus and I got a full tank of petrol and car mats. My salesman stated they always supply them full with a new car.

Great customer service from start to finish from Lexus Reading.

My faith in customer service has been restored after appalling experiences from Mazda and Mercedes.

With the price of petrol at the moment, that is half their profit margin. No wonder the retail price has gone up again, it’s to cover the cost of a full tank of fuel on delivery, 😂

Having started this thread I ended up getting 30 litres of fuel. Cant say i was too thrilled considering various dealers offer a full tank. But horses for courses, i did get a good deal on the list price.
