Hello all

I’m due to pick up my brand new ES next week and was wondering how much fuel should I expect in the tank as part of the handover. Some manufacturers stipulate an estimated amount as part of the delivery cost but I can’t find any information with Lexus.

How much fuel have new owners been afforded on here?

Anything between "not much sir" or maybe up to just under half full.

Do let us know/ I guess that living in the North will be to your advantage compared to living a lot further SOUTH, Nigel.

Thanks everyone. I will report back my own experience.

On a £ 40k car! Disgraceful!

I picked up my base-model ES from the dealer and the tank was full to the brim. I would not expect anything less.

I have always had a full tank of fuel on every new car I have purchased from various dealers. I thought this was standard with all new cars from Lexus

You are based in Yorkshire ?

Well all those based in the South had full tanks & the further North you go (going on the posts here) it will get a lot less.

So Yorkshire it may be fumes and a map to the nearest garage ?       😙

Snap, mine was full to top, and when it went back in for a slight fix (replaced a bit of the chrome trim around window) they topped it up again

Haha. Yes it’s grim up north. However, im picking the car up from Woodford Lexus so I may get a few extra fumes ☺️

I wouldn't bet on it as I had a dealer attempt to secure my business with a full tank offer.

I obviously laughed as what's £80 in comparison to paying £x less each month over 3 or 4 years...

Bought mine as an ex demonstrator. Had to fill up on the way home. When I questioned not having a full tank (as I expected it) they said you didn’t ask for a full tank.
Unforgivable in my opinion. Never been back to that dealer since. In over 6 years.

Lexus Stoke.

The financial side of the transaction left me feeling ripped off. But I did get the tea ceremony.
do they still do that?

Surely just ask for a full tank, they can only say no....

Thanks Paul.

I don`t recall reading about poor service from Lexus Stoke previously.

You spend 20/30/40/50k on a car and have to ask for a full tank??

I find this a prime example of NOT putting the customer first. Disgraceful and not one argument will set this. Ryanair comes to mind .

Does Lexus HQ allow this?

1/4 tank for me.

To be honest l didn't expect there would be much fuel in the new car, so made sure it was touch and go that my trade-in would even make it to the dealers.
