I happened to be looking out of the kitchen window where the car is parked on the drive just as the bright sun popped from behind a cloud this morning and the car alarm activated. I'm assuming it activated an internal sensor as there was no movement or vibration around the vehicle at the time. I'm reluctant to disarm the internal sensor (the one for pets left in the vehicle) every time I lock the car. Luckily I live in Manchester so we don't see a great deal of sun anyway! Anyone had this happen?

The same thing happened to my car last night. It has happened once before also after dark. As it is only occasional I don't think it can be due to a voltage drop (i.e a low battery). My car was only serviced a month ago and the batteries passed their check.

If it wasn't caused by a voltage drop, de-activating the internal sensor will cure this if it happens again. This is a personal decision. I don't have pets, so it wouldn't be a problem for me.

Yes this has happened to me in the UX. Two nights on the trot the alarm activated. I had asked and read possible causes. The favorite is a bug/insect. This proved true in my case and a moth was the culprit.
