The Back boxes hang a little too much for my liking, makes zero difference to the way it drives it's just not very nice (at all) to look at.

Just wondering can this be rectified somehow so the backbox cant be seen as much and exhaust tips fit a little better into the cutouts on the bumpers?

Is it a simple fix or would I need to start looking at OEM parts?

thanks

First picture is of a MY2011 car, which seems to cope better with this issue so the hanger or mountings were probably altered to an improved version.

A dig around some parts catalogues might provide an OEM solution.

Another thing - the chrome tailpipe finishers were definitely changed for MY2011. If you look closely, they're perfectly round on a MY2011 car and seem to fill the cutouts better.

On 2005-2010 cars, they're a slightly oval shape which maybe accentuates the gap if they're hanging a bit low.

Anyway, my previous IS250 suffered from this issue as well, and I also found it annoying so I did something about it.

After experimenting with some strong and decent-sized zip-ties, I managed to lift the exhaust up a little bit closer to the bumper to make it appear more acceptable.

No idea how long-term this "hack" is good for as my car was written-off not long afterwards.

For a proper fix, maybe the rubber hangers could be swapped for polyurethane ones so they're less susceptible to sagging.

In second picture tip is just not genuine, round and much smaller and not central to the cut-out. In the first picture is genuine exhaust with big oval tips.

I guess as advised it would be possible to pull the exhaust little bit up with zip-ties, but it depends on all the rest of measurements, if back-box just sits wrong or pipe comes out through wrong place, then really the only option is to visit exhaust specialist and let them cut and weld it in the way that it sits right.

Over time maybe the rubber hangers stretch and let them hang lower. Has anyone any pictures of when these cars were new to see if they are like that from New

First picture is MY2011 car like mine, which has more snug-fitting exhaust.

Official Lexus press photo of 2010 car. Even brand-new there's a bit of a gap/sag.

That picture looks bang on for how the exhaust looks. A good symmetrical gap between it and the bodywork. Any closer and it would look wrong.
