I may try Toyota / Lexus myself as i never knew that was an option as “it may” be cheaper,  do you have a link to them.

Change the address and mileage. This changes the premiums a ton.  

For example: 16 years clean licence with 7 years NCB, parked at home on drive for social only 6000 miles with airfilter, exhaust, manifold and suspension changes my insurance is £300 a year fully comp with windows, legal, breakdown etc... in the WR10 (Worcestershire) postcode. If i change my postcode to PL31 (Cornwall) my premiums double to £580 for the same cover same company. Also remember 6000 miles a year includes 6999 miles unless it states "Upto X miles a year"

Well yes I guess it does but you would need to reside at that post code & what happens if you go over that yearly mileage by a fair bit ?

We are though thinking hard about moving to BA5 area so ran that through the same comp’ site and the quotes came out slightly more, I will look at the mileage though as the past year we have done nearly 10k on social and would likely cut that down a fair bit should we move.

Just had a quote from  Aioi Nissay Dowa whom it seems have taken over from the previous Lexus / Toyota insurers.  Car is a new UX F Sport Design  -no claims-   Quote is over £1400  - about double last years policy.

Thats what I paid last year. This year (with no claims) etc ; car on drive; they quoted me £1400.    Only explanation is 'shrug' -its a new car - so have my others been!

This year I paid £460 so a step in the right direction

I did not renew with the Lexus insurers and got similar deal for £400
