They have not fixed your vehicle, in fact it would appear to be worse. You have a safety fault displayed and no idea what is wrong. That is dangerous.

Talk to them, seeking repair. One chance then move onto Lexus UK.

Ive given them 2 attempts already. 

I dont want to complain to them because i understand how good the brand is in terms of their general customer service and the build quality/reliability of their cars.

I do understand people make mistakes but that does not mean you skimp on safety and bodge fixes. That is sooo unlike Lexus.

I will call Lexus uk and see what they say about it.

And yet, when buying a used Lexus, most people place great store on it having a Lexus service history. For instance one example is the sliding caliper pins on an IS250. Do Lexus grease these on a service,  no, does a caring private owner doing his own maintenance like me?

We pay our hard earned money for a product or service.

We expect them to look after our cars during the time its with them irrespective of how much it is worth. Its our pride and joy.

You would expect them to fix issues they have caused and not bodge them. 

Its unlike Lexus to do what they did.

Just to play 'Devil's Advocate'.......

First, let me say that I fully agree with everyone else; it was not faulty when it went in there but it was when it came out. That is irrefutable.

What they have done is a bodge, not a fix, and again, they will have to carry out a proper fix on the car.

The bit that I'm having trouble with is people saying that it's a "safety issue".

The wearing of seatbelts became compulsory in January 1983, which is almost 40 years ago. Absolutely no one should need to rely on a buzzer to tell them to put a seatbelt on - it should be deeply ingrained in us by now and as involuntary as breathing that, as we sit down, we reach for the seatbelt.

I literally just could not drive away without the seatbelt in place, I would feel completely naked without it.

All good, however, a warning sound and light is going off for a reason, they need to find the reason and solve. Until then it is IMHO a safety issue as the owner does not know why the alarm has been triggered. From what has been stated they do not appear too bothered that the alarm has been triggered and their solution is to switch off the alarm rather than solve the problem. I feel that is a safety issue.

Not a good approach from Lexus I feel.

It is a safety issue. Driver is supposed to keep his passengers safe and if driver is not informed that back-seat passengers have no seat-belt on it is not good. A warning tone is meant to wake up drivers so they can be sure children and old family members use seat-belt.

Sounds like a "fix" from the 1980's!  I remember having a Vauxhall Carlton on the company fleet which had a dashboard that would intermittently light up various warnings for no apparent reason. Dealer had multiple attempts at remedying this but eventually resorted to disabling the warning lights in question!

Got an update:

Spoke to the general manager at Lexus bham.

He initially justified disabling the buzzer 🤣.

It took some convincing for him to ask me to bring the car in on Friday. 

They will be enabling the buzzer and checking out the car thoroughly to see what is causing the issue.

Fingers crossed it will forth time lucky.

We have good cars made from good hardware and the reputation Lexus have had and for some still have has been built over many years. The reputation can be destroyed much faster. Where we live Toyota was fantastic 2005 - 2006. We had a MR2 Spyder serviced there. Lexus in same buildings is not recommended by me and only reason going there is that with service follow warranty that is not possible to get from independent and maybe better garages.
