Carpet hook

I’ve just found that I’m missing one of the carpet hooks which the floor mats attach to.
Does anyone have a spare one lying around or point me in the right direction to getting one?

👍👍 Just had a look, cheap as chips.

Found the missing one under the seat but the bit that goes into the carpet has broke.

Been looking at them.

Are the circle bits the pieces that fit in the main carpet which the hooks clip into?

They are the bits which have broke on mine.

Yes thats right but you will need access under the carpet to fit the rings!

That is removal of the sill trim and probably front seat.

Just took the door sill trim off and the carpet looks a nightmare to unclip from the sill edge😲😲🥴🥴

I need to rethink🤔🤔🤔

I had the same problem with my 430 - the circle just came off with the hook - just lived with it whilst I hd that car - I did think at time of super-glueing the ring back but never did.

It's a bit of a pain but it does unhook sufficient for access to the underside. Freeing it up from the footwell and or removing the front seat will help.

Hi Russ

In all honesty mine is the same and I was waiting for the better weather to address the problem.

I looked and surmised the front seat would require removal and thought, that is a sunny day job!

When I do mine I will let you know if I learn any more.

I’m waiting for a not so cold day to have a look at it.

I have a couple of possible ways of fixing it, in my head, wether they will work or not I don’t know.

Please share your ideas, without which it certainly looks like it will pan out to be a bigger job!

The front seat can probably just be unbolted and gently tilted back, remove covers, remove 4 bolts, wedge something soft underneath it and free the carpet. It doesn't need to be removed from the car or the wiring disconnected if you're careful. It would probably take me 15 mins to replace that carpet hook eye. Far too long for something so simple but not that much of a deal.

Double sided sticky velcro?? You could always put the little hook in the hole so it looks good 👍

Hi Russ and Stewart

My thoughts now is to wait for a good sunny set of days, remove the seats, sill trims and centre console. Then I can remove the beige carpet in its entirety to give it a good shampoo and steam clean, dry and refit the circles and carpet.

It is a fair sized job but the result will be worth the effort.

That does sound a bit extreme as you could probably do a really good job on it by simply removing the front seats. Follow the professional detailers example, use the right products and a circular drill brush to clean them thoroughly but don't get the carpets too wet and then use a wet vac to get them dry.
