reverse beep = switch off?

Sorry to add this random post but I commented re some software and an OBD reader that I purchased to do this myself successfully and my post no longer exists? Are mods removing posts at random without notifying people? That’s a shame as I’m new on the forum and trying to contribute.

It could be worse like a large speaker mounted under the rear bumper booming out....

I think all HSD Toyota/Lexus which have a joystick instead of a gear lever do have the reverse beep. In my Prius I found it useful when, being absent-minded, I had not realised I had put into reverse and the beep saved me from crashing the car into my house wall while parking.

That would of hurt your wallet and your pride! It has been useful once for me also. One morning I accidentally selected reverse whilst still in the garage! Luckily avoided the metal racking between bumper and wall because of the "audio assistance!" As a failsafe now I have installed bricks behind the rear wheels. I think of them as my cheap version of chocks. Being a military aviation fan!! 😆 😂
