Hi

Im going to attempt swapping ECU's , does anyone know if there would be any issues if he part number is slightly different ?

My current one is or is supposed to be 89666 - 30371  , I may have access to 89666 - 30373 which is for models 04.2006-07.2006

Has anyone had any experience with ecu swapping ? any advice will be much appreciated

First question should be asked here - what is the issue you having that you think you need to replace ECU?

After that it is trial and error, it is best to get correct ECU to begin with. Some ECUs with slightly different code works some don't. The problem usually comes with communication between Power Source Unit, Gateway or ABS... basically some of the combinations communicate together, some don't... then you replace Power Source and you have new load of issues where it doesn't match with some other stupid thing like smart key module.

Needless to say - you will need to program new ECU to immobiliser (hope you know how to do it with OBD2 pins), make sure Battery does not die whilst it is doing it for 45min (30min should be enough, but to be safe I leave it for 45min), because you can brick ECU if Battery dies during the procedure (or some other module... it is quite common to get "stopped communicating" issue on many modules and there is no way to reliably wake them up after that).
