Having perused the Lexus website I often look (gaze upon) the LC' on offer of which at the top end there are two lovely ones in green one of which is a drop dead gorgeous soft top ....any ways whilst looking I came across two shod in the 19 inch wheels both of which had been refurbed I assume in different colours to the original black/polished finish. I've (hopefully) attached photos correctly.....I have my opinion wondered what others think ?Screenshot_20220105-225105_Chrome.thumb.jpg.17616ba64fe3908c70ef53df3acceef8.jpgScreenshot_20220105-225145_Chrome.thumb.jpg.2b36b6128b13a2966b461b9d21cbd73c.jpgScreenshot_20220105-225225_Chrome.thumb.jpg.ea544d80ceb08ab25fca4ce2f02d49b1.jpg

They are 21 inch wheels, standard on the Sport and Sport Plus.

I am biased, original finish is the best. Dealers advised me that most wheels which have been recoated in a different finish have been damaged and there are few specialists who will or can return to factory finish.

My bad of course 21" only have the puny 19" on my F 😁...I'm in the "keep it original" camp myself and I have heard those 21" wheels are nigh on impossible to refurb to original finish due to their design unique design so I guess both cars with the non standard wheels were damaged at some time, wonder if the dealers had them done or the owners beforehand 🤔

Are those cars in the pics at main dealers? Be surprised.

They are very susceptible to damage but lovely wheels and a joy to clean!

@AJ500 Main Lexus dealers have some strange ideas at times selling cars have in part reached desperate during the pandemic…..example popped into the huge new Lexus Toyota site at Cribbs Causeway Bristol yesterday while Mrs Rat was in the shopping complex….and pride of place in the centre of the Lexus showroom is a RcF Track edition brand new…… wrapped fully in a Matt white wrap…..the car is a metallic white car from production forget the name of it but why oh why would you….the wrap cost £6k apparently but it’s free with car …….

Seriously, they are so easy to clean and the finish is extremely smooth.Mine are very regularly polished by me and therefore easy to keep looking mint.

I like the original finish with the black sections, it makes them look thinner/lighter as they are quite chonky wheels. The bronze looks a bit tacky imo.

If you go to look at it mention the kerb damage (probably obvious, but they usually offer to sort it).

They look quite easy to clean to me.

The normal 21s are very easy to clean.  I have a £2 wheel brush and it lifts the brake dust off the chrome-y bits very well.

Plus you don’t really need to keep them mega clean as even when relatively dirty they look pretty fab, and huge.

(Sometimes you want to be a bit less attention seeking, and when spotless these cars look absolutely unbelievable.  I’ve only cleaned the whole car twice since buying it - its not like some cars that look crap when they are dirty but great when they are clean.)

Always disliked the wheels on the LC500. Too bling. Obviously designed for the yanks.

If I were to ever fancy buying an LC 500 this is what wheels and colour I would have.

Wheels OK...colour ?🤔

I'm not a big fan of white but this appears to be pearlescent white which I think suits it. I've always thought the discs on the LC are too small for open 21 inch wheels so any design that covers that is good in my book.

Aren't you keen on that overall look?

Dark colours work well on the LC though because of the curves and you get that deep gloss liquid look. Having said that I do actually like white on the LC, I think it gives it a more futuristic look.

Those wheels are quite bling though... Then again your RCF literally has a multicoloured rainbow wrap, so you do you. 😅

They've probably been kerbed but yes, they're not exactly easy to refurb and cost a good chunk more than a normal refurb.

I saw one a whilst back that had a similiar look but had been diamond cut. They looked quite good.
