NX High beam light intensity?

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if other NX F-Sport owners could advise please. I have searched and checked user manual but nothing really helpful came up.

I have LED lights and if high beam is set auto mode, the light intensity does indeed adjust to oncoming traffic. However, if I pull the light stalk back towards me as if to flash the lights, the intensity is much brighter than that of auto high beam. Is this correct? I'm finding I have to put the lights in flash position sometimes to see where I am going.

This all happens at speeds over 40mph but have not checked auto brightness much faster than this. Does intensity increase with speed?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, the lights go into “high speed mode” at 63 mph as per attached screen shots…….

Excellent, thanks for that. It does coincide with some of what I’m seeing. I do think the high speed setting could be lowered somewhat as it’s doubtful I would ever reach those speeds at night on a country lane. Very clever technology though I guess.

@Don C Does this apply to the 2018 model? - I have a 2018 car with AHS, but can't find the pages you are referring to.

Good point, just noticed Don C's car is a 2020. Mine is also a 2018... Don?

It depends if yours has Adaptive High Beam System (AHS).  From what you described it does but the best way of checking is try if there’s any difference from about 65 mph.

You won’t find them in the manual, they are technical documents.

Thanks for your help Don C. Yes pretty sure it has AHS. Now I just need to find a road dark enough that isn't a motorway to try it 🤔.
