Switched out my worn gear shift knob for a black leather one

Recommended Posts

I replaced mine ( completely unworn) for the wood version.

I asked Paul Frost if he had any and after sending a couple of pictures of the trim colour he sent me a perfectly matched one in as new condition for free 😀

Unfortunately no picture at the moment as out of the UK.

Do you ever use the sequential shift on yours John? I tried mine when I first purchased the car but that 6 speed is so smooth you can’t hear or feel the gear changes so I just leave it in D. If you do need that extra performance it’s just a flick of a switch into sports mode.

Would be interested to see what you've done when you're back in the UK. Yes was worried about colour matching and fake wood is it's all otherwise from the same specific tree. Did Paul Frost use the birds eye maple? I've not had a play with the sequential shift yet. I'm still getting used to the car (I've only had it for a month and would probably end up trying to use it like a manual if I tried due to muscle memory). So many features on this car.

I am lucky enough that my own selector and the rest of the trim is in really good condition (even for a 16 year old car)  I would like at some point to maybe see about refinishing the chrome surround - its not bad but has some scuffs - probably a silly idea as I would imagine it would not be long getting scuffed again. Gear.thumb.jpg.f763a070938e5da911544688a8188b4d.jpg
