Folks, it looks like my new UX will have old tech incandescent indicator lamps fitted, just wondering if any of you have changed them to LED? Some systems using CANBUS wiring need to have resistors fitted to compensate for the lower voltage. It seems a bit odd that LED’s are not fitted considering the CHR has them as standard and you would expect Lexus not to be inferior in that respect!

You may find that a higher variant (Takumi?) has them.

You will indeed need to fit ballast resistors (50 ohm, 6W if memory serves) or swap the flasher unit for one that specifically deals with LEDs.

Yeah, I noticed this when I ordered, mine is the premium spec and I wanted to keep the invoice cost <40k in order to avoid the excessively high VED banding! It’s hardly something special to have full LED lighting, you get this on some very basic marques. I suspect the Takumi version has completely different headlamp / indicator units as it also incorporates different main beam LED’s too. It’s probably more aesthetics than functionality although the LED brightness is much more easy to see and pronounced, it also uses less power which can only be good.
