This is quit weird. It worries me a bit now actually as I am about to order a NX with Tahara upholstery. So far I had a MB B class with Artico vinyl faux leather and the age/mileage is 7y/101K and except some lines on bolsters - no cracks or whatsoever. I was told at the dealership that this upholstery was the choice of the taxi drivers in Germany as being durable and easy to maintain.

The artico is crap though. I've got it in the c class and its so thick I would be surprised if it cracked in the first place

And feels like plastic too. I'd know my c class has it

I speak from experience as well. It does the job.

I do not mind if the Tahara is softer but as durable as the Artico. However if the tear and wear of Tahara is excessive due to the softness and the texture, then I will not be a very happy bunny.

I had it in my C class also and had it replaced with Nappa leather so much nicer. But Artico is nothing like as durable as it's predecessor, MBTex that was found in every Stuttgart taxi around the world. So robust it would survive a nuclear explosion, along with cockroaches and scorpions!
