Have got a UX 250 h  13000 miles. had for 2 months    unfortunately Kerbed it , which put the  tracking  out , took it to the Lexus dealer where I bought it, they

sorted it ? 

Took it back a week a later , mechanic  agreed that the problem was still there after originally sorting  after a short drive ,  told me they had  sorted it again  still

seems to pulling to the left , and when centring the steering wheel , goes to the right , anyone any ideas how I get it sorted, juts starting to disbelieve the Lexus

Not to keen on putting on who it is , in case it goes further , will just say they are in the North West , if you have any ideas how I can resolve the issue ,

that would be appreciated , do not expect this level of service for a car that cost quite a bit close to £30k

Most cars will pull to the left slightly due to the way the road is in the UK

As long as the numbers on the printout are fine it should be well aligned unless you've bent something 

They've obviously tried twice to rectify the issue I don't see how that's poor customer service?

What puzzles me, Peter, is what did this Lexus dealer do the second time that they had failed to do the first time?

Tracking is not an arcane art so I wonder what the mechanic was diagnosing as the problem - if as Rayaan has just pointed out, it actually is related to the car anyway.

I have presumed that the more obvious candidates; such as tyre pressures, tyre damage, for example, have already been eliminated.

If you're not happy with what Lexus are doing you could always take it to some other place. Being as you kerbed it, it can't be a warranty claim so any place that's good and does tracking will be able to do it.

Well, yes, but I thought that went without saying.

Yes I could have done some damage , although would have though they might have checked that , no mention was made it thats the case

Visually checked the tyre , looks fine, will check the pressure , will be getting someone else to drive it, they have a Merc estate , see if they come to the

same conclusion I do , will take it to a tyre company in Wigan , who have Hunter diagnostic machinery , will also get the steering checked

In my experience resulting from advice from an MOT tester, the key thing is to find a garage with a Hunter machine and people who know how to use it properly. I discovered this after a tyre place adjusted the tracking on a one-year old car for me. They left the steering wheel off centre so I went back. The boss had another go and if anything it was worse.

So I just put up with it for a long time. As Rayaans said above I just thought "Most cars will pull to the left slightly due to the way the road is in the UK".

Then I got the advice from the MOT tester and looked for a garage with a Hunter machine. I vowed not to go back to a tyre place where most of their experience is with ripping tyres off wheels and telling customers they don't need to use a torque wrench.

Instead I found a small independent with a Hunter machine. The result was a marvel. The car never felt so firmly planted four square, even compared with when it was new. It didn't pull to the left either.

When I got my IS I had assumed I'd probably need to take it to the garage with the Hunter machine. But it's been perfect since I had it. No pulling to either side, steering wheel dead centre. Goes dead straight. It can be done, and even a Lexus dealer may get it wrong.

Hi I have to agree with what has been said about a 2nd opinion ,there are a lot of garages that get involved with Hunter alignment equipment but I am afraid a lot do not know how to operate it .A web site ' Align my car ' lists garages that specialise in alignment .I see you are in Lancashire ,if you are anywhere near Bolton ,I use Nigel Langs garage for 4 wheel alignment ,they are brilliant ,I have no connection and do not usually recommend garages but they use a hunter machine and I have been well satisfied with cars they have set up for me including our MX5 which are notorious for alignment problems ,check out the web site

Sometimes depending on the severity of impact an adjustment to toe will cure the bias.  However, it is possible that the camber or caster has been affected.  Again with some cars this can be compensated for by adjustment but when my Camry  was side swiped years ago it needed at least a new strut and possibly other parts so everything could be brought back into correct alignment.   So yes a very careful alignment check is a good place to start.

Yes, Hunter wheel alignment kit for me every time. And I’ve used the alignmycar website to find a specialist.

One thing to bear in mind is that should a significant adjustment be necessary to wheel alignment it must be evenly done on both sides or the steering wheel will not be centered. A lot of “technicians” just take the lazy option and just adjust the one side, castor and camber is really just a check that no damage has occurred as most cars do not have any way of adjusting it.
