Lexus UX Sat Nav Screen going completely blank

Has anyone had an issue with the sat nav screen going blank.

My UX is 4 months old and whilst out driving yesterday the Sat Nav screen went completely blank also there was No response when trying to access the menu system using the mouse pad. Never experienced this happening before and after switching the engine off and restarting everything came Live again.

No good taking or asking the dealer at present as I am not able to replicate the issue.

Sounds like it may have crashed..... I have seen this on my RX... I think.....  certainly I have had it crash on me (just can't remember for sure if the screen went blank.

You can reboot the infotainment by pressing in the power button/volume knob for about 5s.  (So you can restart the infotainment system without power cycling the vehicle).  This is useful if it crashes.

Paul, you may find it extremely useful to log the matter in writing to him on each and every occasion the problem occurs.

IIRC an ES owner had this problem and was told it was the system updating over air? could this apply here?

Mark,

The firmware cannot be upgraded OTA on the 2021 ES in the UK.  Only the maps themselves can be updated OTA, which does not cause a blank screen (in my experience)... and you have to click on "accept" to proceed with the update (unless default settings have been changed).

The USA vehicles can, however, have OTA firmware updates so perhaps the one you remember was from the USA?
