Lexus Preston - review

The year has flown by which meant that it was time for my Rx450 to visit the dealership to lighten my wallet and carry out the car's 3 year service and after last years experience with Lexus Carlisle I was somewhat on my guard... 

 

However, following a conversation with Herbie I went to Preston this year and things really couldn't have gone better (other than the actual journey from Cumbria - flooding and closed bridges adding hours to the travelling time). 

 

We were met at the door by Roy who had obviously done his homework and addressed us by name (nice touch) and with Jodie looking after us for the vehicle service the overall process/experience was like night and day compared to the experience we had with Lexus Carlisle... We shall definitely be back to Preston next year (just hope the weather is better)!

Excellent news Gary, good to hear that.

I think I mentioned to you last time that we live in Preston but have family in Carlisle and I too, have experienced the Carlisle way - not good at all.

Glad your experience with Preston was a positive one. Next time you're coming down let me know in advance and you can call in for a brew

Thanks Herbie, I'll certainly do that as I would be interested in seeing your carlink kit in action (unless you binned it!)

It's funny you should say that Gary because right at this moment the Carlinkit unit is on the dining room table after having stripped it out and replaced it with a Grom Vline 2.

I still have to set up the Vline unit properly and it seems like the supplied GPS antenna isn't working, but already I've had more success with it.

Glad to see this is looking better for you! Just a note on the GPS... i think there is a solar flare occuring at present. One happend a month or so ago and it knocked out my GPS lock for the evening. This could be your issue especially if the unit has never managed to get a lock in this location before. You may find it resolves itself in a couple of days. (I know it sounds scifi but I'm being serious!)

Thanks for that Paul, I hadn't thought of that but you may well be right.
