Hi all

Do you know if my GS250 can receive up to date Sat Nav updates of which include speed camera warnings?

I take it there will be a cost involved if it's a main dealer..

Cheers

Cost - there surely will be! You have a couple of options.

1) Pour yourself a stiff drink, sit down and call your local Lexus dealer for a price. Or, when you have recovered from that shock, try 2)

2) https://toyotamaps.online/

You'll need to identify which model sat nav you have - possibly Gen 7 but don't quote me. The updater is pretty straightforward - I posted details of how mine went somehwre here - it was in November/December 2019 but I can't just find it. Also copied in another post recently. My update then was to April 2019 - I think there is an April 2021 version available now.

Camera warning s are a bit vague, but you get a bleep when one is in range. Or - drive within speed limits - you won't get warnings of most mobile cameras and they are more common these days. One will get you sooner or later if you exceed limits - from personal experience!☹️

I think your car has to be running for 80 mins when you update it as its the whole of Europe be nice if you could just have have the UK map.

I personally won't be getting it as I updated my mk3 disc & never actually used it in 3.5 years.

Be nice if there was a update for car software.

Just looked at https://toyotamaps.online/

75$ is quite a price.

If you have like in the CT 2016 a micro SD-card it is about 40£ or less on eBay quite often.

Unlock car - key away - 5 - 10 minutes - card out - card in - navigation updated. So I was told by one selling maps. Will do that next time if I will update again as I find the navigation system so poor and clumsy to use that I think an old Garmin Nüvi (free update for life) or Google maps are so much better that using the navigation in the CT is wasting time.

I was stupid and had Lexus update it and paid for being not smart at all: 156€.

Thanks for these replies. Might give it a go, £60 probably worth it as I'm planning on keeping this car for a couple of years longer.

Cheers

Adam

As john said my old 2014 GS450 you have to take a pic of your Sat nav with the ID showing then  they give link to download maps put these on a 64 gb USB and put it in car but it takes about an hour to complete.

I am lucky mine is a SD card

I also may be in a minority but i find the sat nav just fine admitedly its not intuitive but once you get it in your head i cant fault it

never as it let me down and if you subscribe to Lexus connect you can make your routes on there and download to car must have data though
