Mornin All!!!!

Right the time has come for new front Pads/Discs and being new to Jap cars I don't know who get to supply them.

I want a mild upgrade ie groved discs & better pads (less dust)

Any recomendations would be very helpful on where to by them. I can do the fitting myself but all I've seen on the web are massive brake kits @ ££££££

Thanks Ian.

persoanlly id stick with the std stuff, its the best brakes in its class, and i doubt you will really be upgrading., in all honestly.

on the race car ive kept the std discs just upgraded to Mintex pads, as these dont suffer fade as quickly when raced on a track

Ian, I agree with Mat's comments.....however, if i'm thinking in the same way you are, your after a bit of style and looks too!

Ive got the DBA dics front and rear, they look very nice and are a great replacment! You can run the stock pads on them, but I would suggest some EBC green stuff's or similar on the fronts to reduce the brake dust!

Speak to Mark at TDI, I'm sure he can sort something out for you!

I've got the DBA ones (see tdi) which look nice and work well with EBC Greenstuff pads.

However some people say that std pads are better for DBA discs...........

do a search on Brakes............will keep you bemused for hours....

I've spoken to TDI and the best price they can do inc VAT minus Discount is £268

But Tune a car for EBC discs & pads have qouted £ 233.93 + carrage.

Yep I agree with Mat again....I had EBC's on the front before replacing them with DBA's....I know others on here speak differently, but in my experience, I wouldn't go back to EBC's...they warped too easy and they were quiet noisy when the windows were down...you also got a little ticking noise which could be heard if you were driving close to a wall or parked cars! Fargo (Paul) and a couple of others feel the same about EBC's for the Lex!

WHat are the black diamonds like - thought some people on here had them.

In terms of looks alone, I am not keen on the DBA's as they are too GOLD for me!! I like the look of the black diamonds as the disc surface is also black.

I have no problems with black diamonds upto now, they not black btw, they are silver, i had them on front and rear, with ebc green stuff pads....
