Think outside the box. Buy the ES, and an old Berlingo. Chuck the bike and muddy kit in that, and keep the ES sparkling clean...

Different people have different views of cars.

Having a car extra in order ot keep one sparkling clean is not something for me. Do not have 2 garages, do not want to pay insurance for 2 cars, do not need 2 cars.

The ES is a beautiful car and I am sure it can carry a bike and still be in good condition.

Wanting the best I am pretty sure that even though the Saris Bones did a good job for me, the Thule is from a a far higher quality company.

This is the problem John.  I followed that link you gave for Thule and when you put in the ES car, this is what comes back (for rear boot mount)

Same if trying to select Toyota MR2 Spyder. No recommendation, but it did fit just perfect.

Thule do not have all cars to try on and as reliable company they do not recommend what is not tested.

Never been a big fan of SUV's but there is a RX in my local area in a lovely dark green maybe even British racing green.

Amazing how a colour can sway you a bit.

There’s a colour called ‘Terrane Khaki’ available now and I agree it looks just fabulous on both the UX and RX.
