No Gold card discount at Lexus Swindon

I had my car serviced at Lexus Swindon, and gave them my Gold card to get the discount advertised on the membership section, but was advised that because of Lexus Relax they can no longer afford to give the discount on servicing. They will give it on repairs outside of servicing but not on the service itself.

I feel this is a bit of a con, as any warranty claim on Lexus Relax would be covered by Lexus not the dealer.

I've got a Trade card at Halfords so I don't see the point of having the Gold Card really

Not so fast Barry, firstly, dealers have to make a contribution to Lexus for the Relax programme,, secondly, each dealership is independent (or a group thereof) so they make the decision not to discount no one else. As you are within the 10 year rule they clearly reason you are already getting a great deal so no reason to discount. But if the work falls outside of Relax say shocks, then they will do a deal - seems pretty open and transparent to me?

It's open and transparent if explained before the bill and if mentioned on the gold section of this site. If you go to Lexus Swindon on the Gold section it clearly states discount for servicing, if thats not the case any longer update the info for the dealers concerned and we can choose who to use or not.
