Apologies in advance if this topic has already been covered (I did do a search but nothing came up.)

My car is currently in with Lexus having a Transmission & Brake fluid drain/fill

Just got a video back from them and it appears the drivers side rear tyre has some metal stuck inside and could do with replacing.

The question is are the OEM tyres any good or do I hold out and go aftermarket?

Ideally id like something quiet (the quieter the better) that can be used all weather.

I had a set of Michelin cross climates on my previous car and they were fantastic!

What tyre do you use or would recommend?

Cheers

Stick with what you know. Yes there's quite a bit on here regards which tyres are used. Browse the threads which will answer your query.

Thanks Vlad, I've just found the wheels/tyres section of the forum haha.

Cross climates seem to be a forum favorite, so i'll stick with those.

Linas recommended me Dunlop SportMaxx RT 2 in Feb and they have been going quite well so far. Handling is perfect all round weather and have not taken much off in 5000 miles from tread. Cross climate and/or all seasons are meant to be good as well as Eagle Assym 3

The latest Michelins are the CrossClimate 2.  I would have fitted CCs to my IS250  but it had two different sizes front and rear, of which Michelin only did one.

So I chose the then newly launched Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5 and, as my personal priority is wet road performance, they have been an outstanding choice.  Cold weather is less critical here in Northamptonshire as we don’t seem to get extreme snow falls any more!

In terms of noise, they are on a par with the CCs we have on our other car - and a considerable improvement on the Yokos it came with.  One thing to bear in mind with the Goodyears: some of the sizes are what they call ROF - Run On Flat.  Some, like mine, are marked Extra Load.  Many tyre specialists prefer EL to ROF, which they say produces a firmer and less comfortable ride due to the relative inflexibility of the sidewalls.
