Cruise control not breaking downhill

Recommended Posts

I had a hire car in the USA that would on long downhill sections change automatically down gear when in CC. I'm not sure if the CVT would do that. I do wonder how the adaptive CC works when someone pulls out in front of me, the car seems to slow down quickly but I never see any red glow from the raised brake light that sits on the rear window.

When someone make a dangerous situation in front of you it is the automatic sensing system that tell the brakes to act, Not the CVT.

On the CT we have it is absolutely over-impressive. In my mind it reacts a bit more than I think necessary, but better safe than sorry, so it may be correct thinking Lexus has made it from.

You are far likelier to see the reflected glow in wet or damp or murky  conditions than in normal daylight - or so has been my experience in the IS and the RC.

He is right though, initial slow down by ACC can feel like it's braking but no brake lights. I confirmed this by having the line open to my partner who was driving behind me. It's using regen only at that point to slow down.
