2013 RX 450h Passenger air bag indicator

Just bought a wonderful 2013 RX450h Luxury. When I did the test drive I didn't notice this light, it could have been aluminate but where it is is not very noticeable. The light says "Passenger Air Bag on" is this a fault or normal, the passenger seat is unoccupied.

No, that's normal and as it says, it's telling you that the passenger airbag is on and ready to save a passenger's life.

If you ever put a baby seat on the passenger seat then the airbag should automatically switch off, thereby preventing harm to the baby.

Thanks Herbie, I thought for a moment I had a problem. Just part exchanged my 2004 Lexus RX300 with no problems and I know how expensive one of these cars can be and how they "Fail" the MOT. Clever .
