I have just got my car back finally but noticed something strange and that is the keys work remotely but not actually in the door?

Any explanation for this?

Also headlight washers don't seem to work?

Posted

Headlight washers will only work with Headlights on,silly question but did the key actually work in the door before 🤔

@scudney

I would have thought so

Yes I have tried headlight washers with headlights on but they don't work

Strange if the keys worked in the lock before and now don't,would have said if they didn't then the lock might have been changed,as for the washers could possibly be a fuse or the pump,do you screen washers work 🤔

How are you testing the headlamp washer?

They will only work with the headlamps illuminated (not just switched on auto) and only on the first pull of the stalk, after that every 5th attempt (on my RC anyway)

I had the same isue with washers when bought the car.

One hose was disconected from the washer behind the bumper and both of them did not work.

Conected it back and no problem since then.

Put the headlights on and try the windscreen washer, if you see any scree  wash liquid under the bumber then you have the same problem.

Sorry for the bad english 😬

Have you asked the 'garage' where you bought your car about them?

When you say you have “got the car back finally” where has it been until now?

With the seller carrying out various repairs.

Suggest you take it back and ask them to complete the repairs...

@PCM

Please highlight in the diagram where it is and what to do with it?

It's just an (RX300) example but there are lots on the internet... a quick search will help.
