I own a 2019 RX 450h... Been very happy with the car. However had a low speed run in while reversing with a water standpipe resulting in a cracked + scraped front left splitter/spoiler... Please can anyone offer any advice on repair or replacement + costs... Completely my fault.. I'm an idiot. Please advise.

Thanks Roy however pretty hacked off about it especially as can only blame myself...

Suppose to clarify my earlier question: really hoping that won't have to replace the front bumper... That could get pricy so don't want to do it if don't need to... Can anyone even recommend a really good repair shop in the South East of England!? Or might I stand a chance with a lexus dealer?

Hi Ron and welcome to the LOC.

Sorry to hear of your problem, if you could post up a picture of the damage I can take a look at the parts diagram for you to see if it is available as a separate item although they are generally unpainted.

Another option is to find a local repair shop which specialises in plastic bumper repairs as they can be plastic welded then filled as required then repainted provided nothing is missing.

I found this one with good reviews but I have no interest in the company it’s purely an example in your area.

Thanks Steve much appreciated... Your a 🌟

Here are a couple of pics for you...

The damage is isolated to the front left splitter at the lowest point of the bumper... The bumper is cracked + some paint has been scraped off.

Let me know what you think + thank for taking the time

That certainly looks repairable by the method I suggested, I’m struggling finding the exact model on the Toyota database and if you could confirm the model type is GYL26R-ARXGBW it would help me confirm the clips part numbers should they be required in addition.

My local guy would probably charge me around £250.00 for the job to give you an idea of cost so certainly not worth an insurance claim.

I found this video showing the process involved in repair.

Thanks soo much... I have actually managed to push the bumper back up so only a tiny gap now but at least one of the holding clips broken. Obviously a large crack that you can see + paint been scraped off but NO damage further up the bumper...

Where would I find the model number you specify? Its a 2019 (May) Rx450h +that low splitter is in some sort of carbon grey colour.

Would you recommend your guy? Is he anywhere accessible to me?

No problem glad to help, the model specification should be on a plate usually mounted on one of the door B pillars or on your V5c log book.

Bit of a trip to my body shop in Derbyshire

Got a feeling this is the part but would need to confirm.

I'm in Scotland currently so enjoying the sunshine ☀ with no v5c but took your excellent advice + your right all details stamped into the B-pillar... However the model number slightly different... Hopefully doesn't affect anything?

I have attached for proof.

Wouldn't rule out Derbyshire if you personally rate the guy... I'm fastidious + wary of going anywhere least of all a dealer group who will just farm it out probably.

Again I feel obliged to continue to thank you for your patience + understanding help.
