Sun lotion for tyres

Does this tyre sun lotion have a UVA/UVB factor or a speed rating? 😀

OK the serious bit now, just be aware that some Lexus wheels are left and right handed.

Yes sun lotion for tyres.. UV protection is part of many tyre gel brands offering. Well known in caravan and RV circles

One of them contain silicone as protection and the other tell that it contains no harmful silicone.

Have also 99.9% UV protective film on all windows in the car except windshield (yes also window in sun-roof). Skin Cancer is not a nice harmless thing and the way we have been treating the ozone layer with our pollution UV is coming down to us in higher quantity than before.

When being active, I protect myself with clothes blocking UV instead of cream that is worthless when sweating. Yes, also gloves and a face mask.

This is from 2013 and the doctor treating me, tell me that the last 10 years skin cancer has increased so much that instead of 1 operating studio for that in the university hospital, they now have 5.

Thinking back over this thread, Kish, I felt there may be one point that I for one may have missed.  It's not been mentioned, so forgive me if you've already considered it.  Namely, while you've been worried about tread depth, arguably a more important point is tread wear ACROSS the tyre.

Uneven wear across the tread can be indicative of several problems.  If it's greater on one side than the other, that can be indicative of a tracking problem. You might find the car has been pulling to one side, for example.

If it's different in the centre then that can suggest over or under inflation.  And of course each wheel could have a different problem.

Just something to look for during an inspection!  🙂

Cheers Len.

From looking at the paperwork over the last two years of ownership, from Lexus Birmingham during their health checks and servicing. Seems read wear across each tyre is consistent. Any variation is .1mm. Next service is in October, so will await the next health check on the CT!
