Now, I guess I'm not alone in wondering how the anti-collision system works. Luckily some YouTubers have tested it out, which is fortunate because it's a well known fact that the IS300h is not a fast car, and I would struggle to reach the 15mph needed to do these tests.

Yeah... I have experienced it few times in few different cars - certainly not very pleasant experience, especially considering that in neither case it was real risk. I guess far better to have few false positive than than smashing into something without it. 

It works well, when car is equipped with full-speed DCC, but as stand alone feature is really just sort of "last resort" thing, better to not rely on it.
