Hi all, hope you’re enjoying the cracking weather.

A question regarding my IS 300h, when I’m refuelling it, the shut off valve always activates despite having the nozzle fully in the tank. I have to adjust its position and hold the fuel nozzle in a certain position to fill it up. Has anyone else had this issue before?

There is always the odd pump that seems over sensitive but I never had a specific issue with my IS300h. I always push the nozzle in as far as it goes then draw it out just a few cms and let it drop down.

Not tried to hold nozzle upside-down, but I often have to hold it slightly to the side. This is not Lexus issue as far as I am aware (as I had it with other cars as well), but more specifically UK issue... UK pumps are funny like that - not only the lock mechanims are disabled (you can't just lock it and leave it), but they are very sensitive compared to rest of the Europe. Must be something to do with obssesion over risk aversion at any cost in this country.

Agree with Paul.  I have always found that turning the nozzle upside down works on over sensitive pumps
