Thinking of selling - what's my car really worth?

Hi all!

I have a 2000 Lexus GS430 Sport (silver with black leather) which I have owned for the last 11 years but it never really use it and am thinking of selling. It has 120k on the clock and it's done 14k in the last 11 years and just under 5000 in the last 7 years. I don't have much recent service history, everything works except for the heather which works intermittently. Bodywork is tidy with a few age related marks. I would be happy to know what you think it might be worth and it anyone may be interested in purchasing before I put it on Autotrader. If you need any more info please let me know. Forgot to mention, I had a brand new stainless steel (full) exhaust fitted about 3 years ago.

It is difficult to price any car there are a couple of similar offerings on fleabay at the moment and the prices are averaging out to around £2K.

You mention there is little recent service history, I’m guessing the oil and filters have been replaced regularly during your ownership but what about other servicing requirements particularly the cam belt.

You are welcome to advertise the car on the LOC following the rules in the “Cars for Sale” section.

P.S. hiding your registration plate prevents potential purchasers from checking the MOT history, performing other checks in consideration and poses little if any risk to the seller.

Agreed. Buying and selling is virtually my hobby but I'll usually exclude cars with hidden plates right from the offset.
