No off switch for lights!!!

Hi all, just switched from IS300H to a 6 month old NX300h Takumi. I am a little puzzled why we have no off position on the light stalk on the NX!! Seems odd that you can’t sit in the car of an evening and listen to some music without having the lights on 🤔

If you switch away from the Auto position to the sidelight position the headlamps will go off just the position lamps stay on?

But you still can't go dark. As a sea trout fisherman i do a bit of night fishing and that's a damn nuisance when i drive down to the riverside!
