New 2007 GS450h, some creaking and tapping.

Hello. I've just bought a 2007 GS450h SE-L, condition is not great, got a few scratches, blemishes and painted over stonechips, but it drives fine and was only £3850. A lot of posts on this forum helped me make my purchasing decision and it's much nicer to drive than the old Avensis it replaces. Motorway journeys with ACC is fantastic, I usually just sit behind a lorry and relax. 

Just a couple of things though. The rear view mirror creaks quite a bit when the car wafts around, when you move it the plastic all crushes together and sounds awful. Do I just need to tighten it up or are they all like this?

Also on the left side of the windscreen there is a piece of plastic with a wire on it that has detached from it's sticky pads, what is this and does it need to be there, tapping against the screen all day 😄

The thing on windscreen actually attaches with magnets and now that I've wiggled it back on, it might not tap so much.

Also there is a cable in the glove box that looks like an ipod cable, is this factory? There's no aux button on the stereo.
