Best tyres for lexus RC300h f sport

Can anyone please recommend the best all season tyres for the lexus RC300h f sport?

I don't think you'll find All Season tyres as a direct replacement for those supplied from the factory.

I'm assuming you have the staggered set-up 19" wheels?

Lexus did offer the pre-facelift model with 17" rims but not in the UK and definitely not on the F-Sport.

My face-lift model (2019) only comes with the 19" rims and there are no All Season offerings, only full Winters

Dunlop on this one, Bridegstone on the first one. Both as they came from Japan.

To be honest I've not needed to renew my tyres on either RC but if I did keep one long enough I think I'd go for Michelin

Michelin Cross Climate+ are great all season tyres but I don't think they do them in the size needed for the rear of the RC F-Sport. I think you may need to go with summer tyres and a set of winter wheels/tyres.

Correct, frustrating as they would be my first choice. The 300h isn't a sports car and doesn't really warrant high performance specialist tyres.

Lexus could only offer full winter tyres as an alternative.

This was the problem I had with my Lexus - Michelins not available in one of the sizes.

But as it happened Goodyear had just launched their Eagle F1 Asymmetric 5 in both sizes.  Depending on which tyre reviews you read, these are at least as efficient - if not superior- to the Michelins as an all-weather tyre.

I’ve certainly found them to be excellent performers, especially in the wet.  Also distinctly quieter and better riding than the originals I got it with …Yokohamas I believe.

But they aren't an all-season tyre. They may be good in the wet but they will lose performance as temperatures get into lower single digits.

Yes, you may be right there Colin. But I described them as an all-weather tyre.  In our part of Northamptonshire that really ranges from very dry to very wet.  And these Goodyears apparently perform very well in both.  They were my compromise choice because Michelins were not available to me.

We rarely now experience extremes of cold and even snow is becoming rarer.  But then that’s what we have a four by four for.

As far as my personal tyre requirements go, the priority has always been wet road performance.  All tyres are a compromise anyway.  And as far as I’m aware, all compounds become harder as the ambient temperature drops, and so lose a degree of grip.  As Peter pointed out in the first response, an all-season option may not be available to the OP.

So as you pointed out, unless the OP is going to invest in a separate set of winter wheels and tyres, he might like to consider such as the Goodyears as a high performing compromise.

Of course he could opt for the Michelins as an all-season option if he can change the wheel size to suit the tyre range.       
No doubt you can advise on whether that’s possible or even desirable.

The pre-facelift RC300h (before 2019) were optioned with 17" wheels the same size front and rear (225/50/17) so the OP could go smaller and easily get all-season tyres.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S would be the best but completely overkill for an RC300h - better suited for the RC F.

The RC300h rolls off the factory floor with the following wheel options (depending on grade and destination country):

225/50R17 with 17 X 7 1/2J inset 45mm rims

235/45R18 with 18 X 8J inset 45mm rims

235/40R19 / 265/35R19 with 19 X 8J inset 45mm / 19 X 9J inset 60mm rims

any of those will keep the speedo within tolerance. For winter tyres you normally want a narrower width so the 17" would be the way to go. If you wanted all-season tyres then the 18" would be a good compromise, although you could just use 235/40R19 front and back.
