NX 2022 NEW MODELS REVEAL

Recommended Posts

After looking closely at the Model 3 and weighing up the build quality lottery against the supercharger network, the launch of the EV6 with its beautiful surfacing, well-resolved design and advanced 800V electric architecture resolved any doubts.  So I've ordered an EV6.

The Model 3 quality issues are now mainly resolved; the made in China models seem to be consistency good and all UK cars are now coming from the China plant. However you cannot go wrong with either, I'm sure you will be extremely happy when it arrives.

And without it squirting out all over your hands and clothes leaving that sticky residue 😁

I would like to see an EV6 in the flesh.

Sorry if this question has already been answered but are all electric vehicles exempt from the £40.000 extra luxury road tax?

From .gov

"You have to pay an extra £335 a year if you have a car or motorhome with a ‘list price’ (the published price before any discounts) of more than £40,000. You do not have to pay this if you have a zero emission vehicle."

I am not worried about me at all. I am away with the fairies and it is a lovely place to be Phil!

Why should I NOT be able to see a Kia EV6 in the flesh?

Because cars generally are made of metal and plastic 😁

I used to enjoy irritating people by sucking harder on the straw by way of amplifying the bottom-of-the-carton burble, especially if the movie was crap.

Damn! I thought it said "the movie was carp" , hence the reference to mouth breathers 🤣

US specific, but should give an idea as to the colours/interiors/trim that may be available for the UK, that is the hybrid and plugin as we're not getting the ICE only

 Thanks @subria88 that's very informative.

Assuming that the UK spec list is very similar to the link above, my initial thoughts\aspirations would be as follows:-

NX350h - Cloudburst Gray - Standard 18" alloys - Black\Rich Cream Leather - Premium Package (with Lexus Interface)

Just need to win the lottery now 😀

Got email from Lexus last week. They will be taking orders from September, with deliveries early in 2022.
I'm guessing this would suggest that demo cars may be in the showrooms from late August?

Unlikely.

They usually take orders well before the first demos are received. For example, I ordered the UX300e in November last year ang got it in March 2021. The first demos came in February.

I actually pre ordered it a long time before the actual full order went in.

A "behind the scenes" type look at the new NX in Japanese. Youtube will do a rough and ready english caption

At about 6:50 they show off the remote parking feature. The parking cameras look quite crisp and clear

Following the announcement from Lexus that the new NX is now available to pre-order (https://mag.lexus.co.uk/new-lexus-nx/), I spoke to my local Lexus dealer today and have placed a (fully refundable) £500 deposit on one to get the ball rolling.

I was told that they expect to have demonstration models in the showroom by December (or possibly sooner) with initial orders fulfilled by January or February.

Was disappointed to be told that Cloudburst Grey exterior colour will not be available in the UK so will need to have a rethink on colours. A strange decision by Lexus I think, considering that that colour features prominently in all their promotional material released to date.

Having now had a chance to peruse the available colours and trim in the published price list (https://lexus.turtl.co/story/13504003_all-new-nx-price-list/), I wonder whether the Cloudburst Grey colour is in fact available but has been named differently for the UK as Sonic Grey. Will need to clarify this with my dealer and report back.
