Noise when putting car into park position and vice versa into drive.

Hi Everyone,

I have recently bought a rx 450h f-sport(02/06/2021).

when driving it is absolutely spot on, but when i come to park the car and put the lever through to Park position and vice versa, i hear a noise coming what sounds like the back end of the car.

I have'nt heard this before because i normally have music playing, should i seek a garage to have a look.

The car should still be under warranty from when i bought the car.

Is this the electronic parking brake coming on and going off? Does the sound last for about 2 seconds?

Knocking? Banging? Clicking? Whirring? Whining? "A noise" is just a bit vague to work with

Yes that is correct, you can hear the noise when you put it into park position and take out to put into drive.

it's most likely to be the parking break engaging and disengaging

I have tried to record the noise but it's a no go.

It Is a whirring noise defo from the back end of the car.

Is this noise ok?

As mentioned before, it is the Electronic Parking Brake engaging and dis-engaging

As others have stated, it's almost certainly the parking brake. Just operate it manually to satisfy yourself that is what it is.
