While I accept that parts and repairs for the LC will be very expensive, I felt rather "cheated" when I had my 3 year service on my V8 in February and was told that Relax was not yet available in the UK. I purchased the 2 year extended warranty (£2.3K as reported above) but I will cancel this next February on my next service and then rely on the Relax option. The Extended Warranty is much too expensive compared to the previous 2 for 1 deals available on other V8 cars.

I had extended warranty on my IS, spoke to my dealer and they said you can cancel straight away and be covered by Relax, you don’t have to wait until the next service if you use Lexus for servicing, cancelling now rather than February means a bigger refund

Wouldn't this course of action leave me with no warranty from cancellation until my next service? I thought one of the criteria was that you had to have a Lexus service after the 1st June to qualify.

My last service was in May, I was told by my dealer I would qualify for the Relax warranty so got my refund from the extended warranty, at the end of the day I am in a Lexus service plan and Relax covers cars serviced by Lexus, might be worth checking with your dealer first for peace of mind

The cynic is coming out of me now. How or Why would any company start giving away potentially millions of ££££ in free warranties.

I've read the T's & C's on the Lexus website and it does read that way. I just can't get my head around it. They're literally giving every new car now a 10 year warranty absolutely free of charge (even though you must service at a Lexus Dealership, which you had to anyway)

I've checked the date and it doesn't say 1st April. Am I being too cynical for my own good?

I suggest that the value or re-acquiring servicing for vehicles 3 to 10 years old vastly outweighs the cost of the relatively few people that pay to extend their warranty

Whoopee, I negotiated a four service plan, three air con services and two MOT’s for £1800 when I bought my LC twelve months ago.

4 services equate to 4 years unless you're doing the miles, in which case why only 2 Mot's Gordon? Also with my 3 year plan I have it in writing that's its transferable, so that only leaves the unknown of if your dealer stops selling Lexus in that case I shall invoke a Section 75

Phil, I think the car is a 2020 model and won't need its first MOT till 2023 and then the second in 2024.

It looks like there service costs have gone up, i am sure a full service for my LC last year was £595 and now its £655.

it will also encourage customers with older cars to keep having them serviced at a Lexus dealership rather than a independent garage, you read so much on this forum about people asking for a Lexus specialists garage  recommendations for  getting work done on there cars rather than paying the dealership prices.

I remember a few years ago talking to Quinton Willson who I believe at the time owned a car warranty company, he's may still do so, I asked him what % of clams he had on Lexus cars, his reply was around 5%.

is that 5% when clocked  lol
