I've had my Celsior for nearly three years, and for practical purposes I've decided to sell it.  I believe this will be an absolute bargain for someone because I've never been one to try to get the top price, it's not worth the agro!

So before I go further afield I thought I'd offer it here first.  I'm asking just £2,200 but this is non negotiable.

It came to the UK in 2018 with 62k and now has 74k.  It's a facelift 2003 model with 6 speed transmission and an excellent reversing camera. The speedometer was replaced with a MPH unit by the importer, the mileage verified by the Japanese auction sheet which I have.  Unlike our LS430's mine has a factory stainless exhaust system.  The body is dark blue, in superb condition with grey wool upholstery (verified by the woolmark label) It had a new radiator and transmission hoses 2.5 years ago as a precaution, the fluid was cherry red.  Last year I had the cambelt and water pump replaced, plus new Denso iridium plugs. It has IS250 wheels with almost new Avon Tyres. The air suspension was replaced with conventional springs from Strutmaster in the US, they're KYB struts with US made springs. It has also had new front upper and lower control arms, and lower ball joints, and all four drop links. None of them really needed replacing but I got carried away!  The steering wheel motors both work perfectly, as do the soft close doors.  It has the usual rear seat gadgets, drinks cooler, lumber refresher etc, all working as they should.  No sunroof so presumably from a hot part of Japan but climate control is perfect.  It has retro fit front and rear parking sensors, plus the quirky illuminated telescopic parking pole.  Sat nav is in Japanese so I removed the disc to stop it talking to me. It has the original very thick "Celsior" floor mats.

The rear windows are dark tinted like most Japanese imports although it still has the rear blinds. The music system isn't the troublesome ML. Radio is limited but radio 2 is fine! TV doesn't do much.

Since I've had this car it has made a bit of a rattle over uneven surfaces sometimes, I've had three experienced mechanics look but none can say why.  The last one to look said it's like a three year old car underneath, there's no rust at all.  I'll get some photos on tomorrow if anyone's interested. It drives beautifully, the engine and transmission are silky smooth.  I have four keys, two master, one valet and one credit card emergency key.  I've had it serviced by an independent and I have the Japanese service book. It's also just had a new Denso air and cabin filters.  Like I say, an absolute bargain for whoever buys it. The current reg for MOT checking purposes is N8PPG but that's not included and will have its 03 plate.

Tax is lower than an LS430 currently at £265.  Someone has contacted me but I'll get it washed and photos on tomorrow.

I should also mention that most insurers won't cover imports but there are specialists. My premium has remained the same for the past two years at £290.

Mine was around the same until I got it on classic insurance which dropped it to around £180.00 but the car has to be 20 years plus to qualify.

I think it's strange that a car which is basically an LS430 is shunned by most insurers.  When we took it to Austria they couldn't find Celsior on their system so Eurotunnel listed it as a Celica!

If I had known a week earlier...such a great deal. Someone is about to be very happy!

Same with parts, a local Motor Factors has “Any Part for any Car” plastered on the back doors of their vans.

One day I’m going to ring up for a Fender Pole 😀

hi tech abounds ..........  I bought an upgrade to my Ls400 hifi etc system .............. but it's a drum kit and not sure how I drive and play at the same time

I would post a piccy of it if I knew how ......  I bought it 2ndhand from the local Red Cross charity shop Friday as a birthday pressie for my nephew's 10 yr/old lad

Think I should be able to collect it etc in the Ls400 ........  I know it won't fit in the Honda Legend for sure

That rattle Phil, is I suspect similar to what I've got on my GS300 and had on the LS400.  Lower Hub Rose bush failure.

A pain to remove, as my mechanic found on the LS400. fortunately I kept the two pieces of Scaffolding tube needed to push out and force in, a replacement.  Only nearside needs doing.  No mention on the MOT of either Cars but a "wobble"sound a bit disconcerting.  Wow!  if your Car had become available before I bought this lemon, I'd have been tempted to ignore lockdown etc..

I would be interested in the job you did concerning your hub rose Stuart if you're willing to share 👍

I might be in that very same boat.

Was it the rear?

Yes Allan, it was the rear. There is a thread somewhere which another member posted showing how he removed the Bush. Sorry I couldn't find it.

Its not an easy job to do and I can only tell you what my Mechanic said.  I gave him two lengths of Scaffolding tube. One measured length 5cm and the other 2cm. Diameter internal 4cm.  Also a 32mm and a 27mm CR-V 1/2" square socket which came in a cheap set I bought off eBay. I ground out part of the inside of the 27mm socket to fit the Bush.

The Bush has a flat end and rounded end. The rounded end being the end to face the Hub when inserting. It is best to remove the circlip on the flat end so the 27mm socket fits snugly. Put back in situ.

The mechanic had the Bolt set but not the correct size parts so used these and with Heat applied (which he said was necessary) he managed to extract and insert the part.

Don't yet know if the GS300 is the same size Rose Bush as awaited. Guessing it will be?

I'm really pleased to say my lovely Celsior is staying in the LOC!  I'll really miss it but I'm sure I'll keep up with news on it for a while.
