I think that is somewhat dependent on the type of driving the vehicle is subjected to. Urban driving in an area of lots of roundabouts would wear the outside edge of the NSF and therefore you would benefit from swapping them over on the same axle if your tyres were non-directional. At worst it would do no harm and only waste about 15 mins of your time, and gives you a chance to lube up the brake calliper sliding pins whist you have the wheels off.

Yes you will always get a bit of wear as the contact surface is worn to match the exact wheel geometry but that shouldn't be too different from the opposite side, unless you have a wheel alignment issue, the same as when you put a new tyre on.

Errrrr that photo taken from the owners manual referring to rotating tyres. Read it. For cars with none directional tyres. Geeeez. 

How many times must it be stated. Directional tyres must never be rotated on the same axle.

Calm yourself Vladimir, I can't find any comment on here that suggests anyone wants to rotate directional tyres on the same axle, we agree with you. 🤫

I agree - if tyres are non-directional there is no harm... nor there is any benefit really. 

In either case, this is no longer relevant for the topic, the inside wear is not related to tyre rotation at all.
