Position for Axle Stands

I’m looking at having my alloy’s refurbished due to them oxidising (which I'm a bit dissapointed about happening already, maybe a new topic for that?). I don’t really want to leave the car just on a jack.

I've no idea of the best position to place an axle stand, front and rear.

So help is needed please?

I would position them under the lower suspension arms, from and rear.

Is there a best position on the lower suspension arm, like nearer to the chassis or close up to the hub end?

This is great and useful to first jack the car up before the need to place the axle stands

I wouldn’t recommend placing axle stands at the jacking points. Not unless the top of the axle stand is flat and fits nicely into the reinforced jacking point. Most axle stands have a v shaped receptacle at the top which could damage the jacking point.

Yes, you need to use the rubber attachments otherwise you are going to put pressure on unreinforced floor/sill or roll over the seam.
