Is200 backfired and died

Is200 give off a big backfire and died out now it won't start not even cranking making like an electric sound, while getting towed I put the car in 5th gear to see and it's just backfiring. Anybody any ideas did I blow it up?

Maybe cam belt snapped jumping the timing? They are known to rub on the timing covers until nothing is left.

That was my thinking, it may also explain why it won't crank.
