Is300h alarm

Recommended Posts

Hi. I recently acquired a is300h. The alarm tends to go off randomly once or twice a day. Been happening for a week now. Any suggestions? Apart from the 2 sensors on the interior, are there any other sensors I should try cleaning? Techstream is just showing the alarm has been activated by both the tilt and theft sensor.

Thanks in advance.

I once had a problem with the alarm of my IS300h sounding off at irregular intervals for no reason that I or an electronics specialist were able to

diagnose.   When I got into the car later that day I found a dead wasp on the passenger seat and I never had the problem again.   I don't know what

the odds would be of an insect also being the cause in your own case, but you might want to try leaving the windows open for a while and see what

happens.

If the 12v battery is discharged then the alarm can incorrectly detect this has having its power supply being tampered with and will trigger the alarm - worth checking the voltage is showing over 12.2v, and ideally up at 12.6v.

Battery is reading 12.25v when car is off so suspecting the Battery is causing the issue. Rang Lexus, batteries are on backorder for months. Will have to look at alternatives....any suggestions?

12.25 shows a level of discharge but doesn't mean the Battery is beyond use. I'd recommend it is charged fully using a Battery charger with an AGM setting. You would need to use the vehicle, or keep it in 'Ready' mode for at least a couple of hours to charge it via the vehicle so best to use a charger.

Cheapest place to get a genuine Battery is Lexus Swindon, but as you say on back order everywhere:

Yeah I agree. Charge the Battery or use the car more to keep it charged up. Then see if this fixes it. I’m working from home full time, have been since last March, but I’ve found it is possible to ensure my car is used at least twice per week. Of course this might be down to a faulty alarm or sensor.
