Looking at quotes for comprehensive insurance now. Can anyone confirm if:

1. The security alarm and immobiliser on the 2020 NX is a Factory Fitted Thatcham approved alarm

or

2.The security alarm and immobiliser on the 2020 NX is a Factory Fitted Non-Thatcham approved alarm

Thanks

I believe the right answer for questions like this for insurance purposes should be “standard manufacturer fitted alarm and immobiliser”.

Thanks guys. The question was asked by a comparison insurance website (compare the market) when seeking quotes. I didn't need it when I got quoted with a online insurer directly.  Out of curiosity I'll ask the car salesman when we next talk.

Cheers Phil

Oddly the brochure doesn’t mention an immobiliser at all. It highlights the auto door locking, glass breakage sensor, and movement and tilt sensors but doesn’t specify an immobiliser. I’m sure it does have one - perhaps it’s such a standard feature now there isn’t a need to even mention it?

^^ That’s what I always go with.

It's listed on the Lexus website.

Quote

Anti Theft System: Alarm, Intrusion Sensor, Tilt Sensor, Glass Breakage Sensor and Engine Immobiliser

I doubt there is a vehicle sold in the UK that doesn't have an immobiliser - it would get such a poor insurance rating.

The NX has a Thatcham approved Cat 1 security system - which means it has an alarm and immobiliser. As has every Lexus sold in the UK since 1995.

Seems odd that the brochure doesn’t mention it but the website does - an oversight one assumes.
