Wondering if you could help me find an answer to my question about Air Condition pump compatibility:

So,the one in my IS250 2008nis gone and I need to replace it-I found one in my neighbourhood but it's from 220d model-are they the same ones?

Hi Tomasz and welcome to the LOC.

I have cross referenced both compressors from the Toyota parts database and they are not the same unfortunately.

There are significant physical differences and mountings.

There are a selection of the correct type on eBay albeit used and of unknown condition, if is just the clutch that has failed these are available as a new repair kit or maybe contact a local AC specialist for a rebuild (you will have to do this anyway if the system still contains refrigerant and to refill after replacement).

I bought the wrong one a couple of years ago but the eBay seller changed it as soon as I realised my mistake.  When I saw the work involved I had a local garage do the swap, totally worth it for £100.  I did a video about the oil capacity I think which is critical.  Link below:

They are definitely no the same, I have replaced my with refurbished used one when mine locked-up around 150k miles.
