Android Auto Wireless

The 2021 UX250h includes Android Auto. The normal way to use it is to connect your phone with a cable to a USB port in the car. There are dongles available (Carlinkit, for example) that allow you connect using WiFi from your phone to communicate with the dongle. This saves you having to plug in your phone every time you get into the car.

Does anyone have experience with this, that they could share?

Hi @booke02 There are currently no dongles or similar pieces of kit that allow you to wirelessly connect your Android Auto-enabled phone to the car's head-unit. There are some for apple CarPlay (see other posts on this forum) but not for Android.

Having said that, such a device is currently being developed that will enable this option for Android. I provided details about this in the post below:-

Andy B - thanks for your update. In my searching I also came across AAWireless/Indiegogo but couldn't help wondering if that was the only solution. Apparently, yes! I am game to give AAWireless a try!

As you may have seen from the latest Indiegogo updates, the delivery time for the unit has slipped slightly but I'm still hopeful of having one in my hands by the end of this month. If you want to wait until I do indeed get mine, I can let you know if it works and what I think of it.
