well, the Ls400 is the most superior car I have ever owned ....  and I suppose the most expensive for me ever too ....... to maintain over 10 years and 110k miles .........  must be at least £150 a year in OEM replacement parts and full servicing .................  we all know a BMW or Mercedes would have cost half that .........  likewise a Ls430 or a Ls460 ......  and a Ls600 much much less of course

My Battery drains within 4 hours. By removing the radio fuse, it doesn,t drain. How can I cure this?

Leave the radio fuse out? 

Sorry, couldn't help myself Seriously though, you obviously have a fault somewhere so you need to do some diagnostic fault-finding now.

First of all, any OBD2 error codes?

Secondly, you'll need to know what else (if anything) is powered by that same fuse so you'll need the wiring diagrams. If there are any other circuits powered by that fuse you need to start isolating them to see which one is causing the drain.

4 hours to drain the Battery....you should be able to feel the heat coming off whatever is causing it 😀

Have you, perhaps, been servicing the car with the engine off, radio on and the doors open? In the early days of the 400 a lot of us (including me) made the mistake of not appreciating just how much of a drain there is on the Battery under non-normal circumstances.

If my memory serves me correctly im sure i read @honestjohn that one of the big causes of Battery drain was the internal lights.

I'm always wary of the interior lights on my LS. They don't fade out when you leave the doors open so I keep that in mind when I'm cleaning or working on it. And putting the key in and out of the ignition and triggering the motor for the steering wheel. Probably me being over cautious but I flattened the Battery on my old GS after spending a couple of days messing with it.

HJ advised to switch them off Brent so as eliminate a drain from that source. Similarly with the light in the Boot !

Yes it does.
When the fob is out of range the car "scans" for the fob a few times per second but otherwise everything is shutdown.
Once the car detects the fob it activates a whole variety of circuits that prepare the car for use as well as disabling the security systems and unlocking the doors.
All of these circuits use electricity so will flatten the Battery faster but compared to what the starter motor uses it's not that much.
Apart from the security aspects it should be OK so long as it gets a long drive (30+ miles) at least once per week.

I don't know about the the GX 460 but the LS 460 doesn't let you lock the doors if a key fob is inside the car (including the boot). The times I've tried to do it, a beep sounds when I've attempted to lock a door. This might be one of those items which can be pre-programmed by the dealer. If it is, I'm glad the previous owner had it done.
