Hi all,

MOT tomorrow, so just checked my tyres with a gauge and brakes etc etc.

Noticed my front brake pads have a bright green backing....does anyone know if these are OEM or recognise them as an aftermarket brand?

No complaints on performance, I am just curious as to what is fitted.

Appreciate the picture isn't brilliant, taken by holding my phone inside the alloy.

I thought Green Stuff too, however I thought they were for smaller cars like hot hatches....

No clues in the history unfortunately....

To be fair, that is first thing I checked and EBC nowadays only offers Yellowstuff on RCF, maybe at some point they were temporarily making Greenstuff for it...

Perhaps. I know a lot of owners recommend YellowStuff.

Maybe someone else with come forward and recognise them as another aftermarket brand.

I expect OEM are black as usual with Lexus/Toyota.

Definitely greenstuff

Although not entirely sure why the've been put on an RC-F. Would expect redstuff as minimum on an RC-F

They also do Redstuff for the RC F/GS F.

Whilst they shouldn't list Greenstuff for the RC F the sellers sometimes do - they make them for the LS460 with brembo brakes which are the same size.

If these are Greenstuff, I'd replace them as they aren't really suitable for the performance of the vehicle. Move to Redstuff if you don't want any squealing.

Well it will pass MOT as is on brakes at least.

When I get some time I will remove them and see what they are....

As you say, Green Stuff not suitable - however I have not noticed a problem with performance, they are very good brakes!

Many years ago I had an Impreza turbo and fitted Greenstuff pads mistakenly thinking they represented an upgrade.

They soon overheated and warped the discs...which Subaru confirmed because new discs were fitted under warranty.

When new discs and factory pads were fitted all was well.

As above, not suitable for an RCF...and probably not much.

As mentioned above, there is crossover with other models, so potential that greenstuff has been put in but not specifically made for this car. Have EBC reds on mine as the OEM brake dust was madness, significant improvement with the Reds!

Another 👍 for EBC redstuff here. As said above no noticeable change in performance, but much less  dust.

only 👎 is they don’t come with sensors. When I priced them at Lexus they were ££££.
I changed mine as the pad was starting to wear the sensor. At about 2mm thickness, and reused them.
