Can any garage fix the RC F cars

Recommended Posts

Hi gang hope you guys are okay,

Last Friday night at 11:40 I heard a noise at street where I park my car when I looked I couldn't believe 4 guys with their flashy BMW were working on my RC F to open it, one was on his knees and was doing something at the left front tyre at this moment I shouted at them and they run away.

When I went out to check they cut the protective shield of the tyre and some wires were dragged out.

Next morning I took it to my local dealership and showed them what happened, today as scheduled to drop my car for them so they can fix it. And received a call after couple of hours.

What they found so far is :

Washer jet not working as the hose was cut and required to be changed, charged 260

Req 2 hours diagnostic to remove bumper and inspect and charged me 312 for this so if they find more things will going to charge me more.

It's already over 500 and just half way Lexus dealerships charge a lot I think.

Do you guys know a good garage to deal with RC F cars in London or close to London please?  Have you guys had same experience? or it's just me thinking they charge too much for some of small things?

I’ve used Westfield for years, they are excellent, Toyota n Lexus specialist, they’re half the price of the main dealers and twice as effective.....you need to speak to Ian or Chris as they are the owners, one of their staff has an ISF too......honestly can’t recommend enough

I am contemplating using them rather than lexus for my GSF. Any negative commentary.

Not from me, they look after my ISF, the wife Auris and my sons type R.....last service they replaced my radiator (preventative measure, my instruction) a full service and it cost £812 parts n Labour.....they ONLY use genuine parts so any warranty remains valid, they looked after my old IS250-sel from new, it NEVER went into Lexus.

We have no idea man, they damaged the jet wash and a few others while pulling out the cables

They were probably after the catalytic converters.

When I came to my car I saw a socket was dragged out similar we have under steering wheel where we connect a diagnostic device or something, today when I went to collect my car from the local dealership I asked this question and I was told they wanted to connect the socket with a gadget aiming to unlock it, it works with other cars he told me but not with RCFs. They came with a BMW 8 series and to get the catalyst is not making sense they were working  close to bonnet they wanted to get close to ECU.

http://www.lex-tekautos.com/ are located in South Yorkshire. Haven't used them myself, however I've spoke to the owner on a couple of occasions and he was more than happy to service an RCF and confirmed he only uses genuine Lexus parts.

Thanks David, this is helpful.

Would use an independent invalidate the Lexus warranty?

No, as long as genuine parts are used and the garage is a reputable one (VAT I think)

I have just been reading the small print of my Lexus Extended Warranty. I quote....

3.1 "If you wish to make a claim under this warranty then you must..... (d) ensure that the Protected Vehicle is serviced by a Service Centre within 30 days or 2000 miles of each service interval specified by the manufacturer."

1. (Definitions) Service Centre. "An official Lexus retail centre or service outlet appointed by the Warranty Provider."
