Hey guys my names jacob, i’m 24 and live in shropshire and have just bought a 16’ caviar black GSF with only 28,000 miles! And judging by the one up for sale currently which they are asking 43k for and having more miles i got a right bargain!  Its an absolute dream to own this car and never thought i would considering price rises and the rarity of these JDM powerhouses, i’ve been going through the posts on this group and you all seem to be enthusiasts of these stunning cars just like myself and i hope i can become part of this! I’ve attached the most recent photo i have of her after she had a good detail!

Ahh, so it's you who just dropped me a follow on the ol' Instagram. What's the reg of yours ?

May be able to find some history for it on here :).

yeah the current dealer asking prices are a bit of a joke, If you don't mind sharing how much did you manage to scoop a 28k milage 16 plate for in this current climate ?

and finally welcome to the forum, fantastic beauty of a car you have.

Why does all the fun stuff happen when I take a week off! 😛

Welcome @GSF_REG to F club, lovely car, think I remember it from an eBay advert a while back but lost track of where it went.

Sounds like you did indeed pick it up for a more pallatable price than the current market.

You are correct, wheels have been repainted, there is only one wheel finish for us in the UK (best one if you ask me), the colour is annoyingly difficult to match though, so refurbs can result in people going for something 'cheap' and or simple.

A meet would be great at some point, come rain or shine! If you check out other threads, there is a stand booked for JapFest coming up, if you fancied it?!

Speaking about matching wheel colours, you will have hear from the new LS owners, there is pretty much no one in the whole country who can match the finish of the LS vapour chrome wheels. Where does lexus source all these colours from.

And oh yeah, if one of the owner of the LC500 in structural blue has a scratch.. forget it .. 😉

I believe it has been a long standing problem for the more specialist wheel finishes, IS F owners also suffer from inability to get perfect matches. I do know that several owners have gone for 'close to' and tbh it really is hard to tell.

When mine is due for some TLC over spring/ summer, I will be getting full set of wheel refurbs done, was rather taken in by a BMW brake caliper paint which is triple layer and 'shadow chrome' in colour (name escapes me on the spot), but it was pretty sexual 😛

Thank you for the welcome @hockeyedwards i do believe i got a bit of a bargain! As for the wheels i really do think they’ve done a lovely job and really gives the car that blacked out limo look, which makes for a good surprise when you put your foot down! Yes i have already booked my LexusFClub tickets and i will be there to join you all, cannot wait and it’ll be my first time ever having a car i own on display, to be honest couldn’t have picked a better car!

That's certainly top end price mark normally a main dealer would advertise. And even at a main dealer that's pricey.

If it was titanium colour, I probably would consider it as a candidate in my hunt

That's just the market as a whole right now.

2020 a GSF was between 28-32 mileage dependant. Lots of independents have seen lexus directly selling between 40-50k in the last 8 months and have followed.

But lexus direct finance etc is so much better than independent.

Be interesting to see the effect of steeply rising fuel prices on our relatively fuel thirsty F cars.

I'd still get one if I find my preferred colour combinations.

Indeed something I have been thinking about, however not letting it bother me as I am not in no rush to sell and am lucky enough to have plenty of 'equity' in my car if values were to fall somewhat.

Agree it might put off some buyers, but not all.

But for me, a small price to pay for the smile on my face 😄

£1.68 for Esso 99 😞 and to fill the LS and F up comes to about £200! 😬

Ahh well, gonna enjoy them whilst I can! Was even eyeing up an IS F... and an LC500...🤣 and an IS300 sportcross as dog-mobile!

Oil should come back down again. The struggle is getting the forecourts to adjust down as quickly as they adjust up 😡

Yes it’s crazy..and could well get to be a lot more!

If used prices are effected, then the lower purchase price of the car/s you are eyeing up should more than offset the fuel cost.😉

Suppose we can compensate by using our more economical cars a bit more than normal until prices drop again…whenever that may be! 😫

Yes just like favourable interest rate changes….rarely fully passed on and any benefits are always well after the event!🤬
